Oxygen in the Middle Ages

Conversation with Alexander today …

A – Plants are great aren’t they?  (He is developing a real love of gardening.  Thank goodness Dad is here now as Michael and I don’t have a green finger between us!)

Me – They are indeed.

A – If it wasn’t for plants we’d all be dead.

Me – Why is that?  (Thinking we’d be doing a little oxygen/carbon dioxide revision)

A – Because in the middle ages people couldn’t get much meat so they had to eat plants, otherwise they’d die and the human race would have died out and we wouldn’t be here.

Conversations with Alexander rarely take the direction I expect.  I doubt I will ever learn this.
